Blind and Determined

Fred Fulkerson chose 'Blind and Determined' as his human book title. This makes sense. His determination has helped him push through fear, depression and alcoholism at various times of his life.

He is often treated as less than due to his blindness, overlooked for all types of opportunities both professional and social. And he finds himself having to prove constantly that he is capable of doing most things. His experience has him acutely aware of how others can offer understanding and empathy to someone who is blind.
