African Immigrant

Our African Immigrant is eager to tell her own fascinating story to the Readers who come to listen. She believes that for far too long others have told the stories of people of color. And when stories are told from the observer's point of view, they become custodians of the truth and can sway it how they choose, most often in incorrect, harmful ways.

She has a rich history as a sister, daughter, mother and human being, all enhanced by her experiences growing up in Zimbabwe, her world travels, and the unexpected racism she and her family experienced upon her entry to the United States.

She hopes that sharing these layers of herself in her own powerful words will help connect people as human beings and heal some of the struggles we face today.
