A Muslim in Modern America

Suha Abbasi is 'A Muslim in Modern America', also the title of her human Book-self in our Human Library.

"I’ve gotten to experience life from different decades and in different countries and now as a Palestinian immigrant in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Each of these times and locations offer a different perspective and I believe I’ve gained experiences that can be shared."

Suha does indeed have so much to share including her experiences immediately post-911 when she was tasked with helping her children who were fearful and being bullied.

"I would love the opportunity to discuss my faith and my story and to try and clear some of the common misconceptions about Islam. I just want the people who listen to be willing to have an open mind to other cultures and religions."
